When Jamie & I were on our last trip, she said that she had some things we could do on a road trip. One of them was a list of 30 questions to answer about ourselves. We didn’t end up doing it because the scenery took our attention away.

Well, I thought I would try to answer some of them. I won’t do them all because there are questions in there that I don’t want to answer publicly. The first question is to list 20 facts about myself. I’ll give that one a shot, but do it with only 10 things about me.

1. I didn’t get my first passport until I was 24. I was living in London and decided I wanted to go to America (Always a dream of mine) Despite not having had my passport for 10 years yet, I think I am a seasoned traveller. I have been to the following places:

  • Austria
  • America
  • Belgium
  • France
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Liechtenstein
  • Luxembourg
  • The Netherlands
  • Switzerland

2. I don’t make close friends easy. It takes me a long time to become close friends with someone. Aside from Jamie, I can count on one hand the number of friends I have that I trust with my life.

3. I was first introduced to classical music when I was in junior school and loved it from when I first heard it. The first composers of classical music I heard were:

  • Beethoven
  • Mozart
  • Strauss (I love the Strauss family music the best)
  • Tchaikovsky

Classical music is always my first choice in music. As I mentioned, I knew that Johann Strauss II was a composer whose music I would fall in love with. There are 4 compositions of his that I absolutely love. They are:

Die Fledermaus

    (Conducted by Herbert von Karajan)

G’schichten aus dem Wienerwald

    (Conducted by Andre Rieu)

An der schönen, blauen Donau

    (Conducted by Herbert von Karajan)

Frühlingsstimmen

    (Conducted by Anon)

4. I first moved to London on New Years Day 2003. I visited there after I got home from my mission and decided that I still loved it. I went back home, packed a few things, said I was going out and ended up in London from 01/01/2003 – 02/2006. I moved there with no place to live, no money in my pocket and no job. By the time I left, I had a place to live, a job, money in my pocket and a fiancée! Not bad going from moving there with nothing!

5. Although there were 7.5 million people living in London, 07/07 proved to be the loneliest day of my life. I felt as though I was all alone. I wasn’t, there were 7.5 million other people in the situation I found myself in. 07/07 was the day the suicide bombers hit London. I talk about this in another post. Get to that post here

6. I have an obsession with counting. Whenever I am outdoors, I count whatever I can. White lines on the road, drains, cars, wind turbines – you name it. Jamie thinks it may be my way of coping with the anxiety of being outdoors.

7. Whenever I get food, I have to eat one type first before I go to the others. E.G: If I have ham, egg and chips I have to eat them separately. I can’t have a bit of ham and then have some chips. It has to be all the ham first, then the chips and then the egg (not necessarily in that order though)

8. Me and change do not get on well. If I have any sort of routine change, it takes me a few weeks to get used to the new routine. I’m not talking about major changes either. A minor change will take weeks to get used to for me.

9. I love visiting old churches. Whenever Jamie & I go anywhere, we often look to see if there are old churches when we are there so we can visit them. There is just something fascinating about them. I can’t put my finger on it.

10. Whenever we go anywhere – holidays or days out – I always look for a magnet for our fridge. We have quite the collection now.
